There are many ways to use words and shapes in math. Use the wordles link at the left to creat your own math wordle. The more times you type a word the bigger the size will be. Are they proportional?

Today I worked in the yard and it occurred to me that there are shapes everywhere. Look at the deck and the fire pit. What shapes do you see? Can you find the area and the perimeter. I also started to look for other shapes around the yard. Stay tuned..............

math in the kitchen

As many know, the winter family event was the kitchen remodel. On December 26th, five of us tore out the old cabinets, flooring, and part of a wall. A local construction company then came to put in the cabinets, move the utilities, windows and more. I was always very excited to see the progress when I returned home from school. One day I saw there were fractions and long division done in pencil on the new beams!!!!!!!!
